Website Updating

A little bit of knowledge can be dangerous. It can be a lot of fun as well.

I've been playing around with the code on our website, trying to update the information and make in Search Engine friendly.

While I was dabbling, I almost crashed our site but quickly realized that the index page was moved to the wrong area of the site (WHEW!)

Lexie Gives Us The "Thumbs Up"

It's always a great feeling when your clients appreciate you.

We had a very cold portrait session with Lexie and McKenzie at the Orchard Lake Country Club a couple of weeks ago. But both girls we're really good sports about the chilly temperatures and allowed us to come up with some really pretty portraits.

We always love hearing from Rob and Mary Beth, and love photographing the girls. Their personalities are something that.... well, you must experience for yourself. She is really a character and her sister, McKenzie is just the cutest little fire ball.

A career as a professional photographer is very rewarding. Now that I have the official "thumbs up" from Lexie - All is good in the word. Seriously, It was hard to hold my camera still after that image. It was truly hilarious!

Zack Roschak - Brother Rice

I've been photographing Zack since - well forever! As memory serves, almost every portrait session we've done for him has been outdoors.

So, when it came to having his senior portraits created, he (and his mom) chose to do a combination of indoor and out, while the weather was still nice enough to allow us to do so.

I Do

September 19, 2004 was a day not unlike today. The sun was shining and there was brisk breeze blowing as we prepared to publicly join as husband and wife.

There was excitement in the air. I can close my eyes and think about the day and all of the events like it were yesterday. Still, memory begins to fade as time marches on.

I'm so excited and blessed to do what I do (Photography). I am able to capture joyous events and milestones in the lives of our clients and friends. This has become even more "real" to me after looking through our wedding images five years later.

I was able to relive all the joy and happiness that we shared with our family and friends. But most importantly, I remembered the love that I felt for my beautiful bride.

This post is dedicated to you Tammi. I love you more today than I did 5 years ago. If I was asked the question again today, to have you and to hold you from this day forward, my answer would be an emphatic "I DO".

Personal Assignment

As many of you know, my mother in law (Tammi's mom) is in the final days of her battle with cancer.

A few days ago I felt compelled to document the effects of his horrific disease and the toll it takes, not only on its victim, but also that of their loved ones.

I drove Tammi to her sister's house where my mother in law is living her final days on earth. I felt a little funny photographing her but as she was surrounded buy her loved ones, the uneasiness soon faded. As mom (Diane) was being comforted and touched and kissed by her daughters, I knew somehow in some strange way, that what I was doing would help my family eventually get through the grieving process.

I captured some more images this morning. Oddly enough for me, I hadn't looked at any of them until today. I usually scroll through the images on the back of my camera right after I'm done photographing. I didn't this time. Why? I don't know.

What is to become of these images? I don't know that either. Part of me wants to post them and make them public. Part of me wants them to remain private. -The Jury is still out.

I can say this. I think there are some powerful images in there and maybe... just maybe, I have come close to making a difference in this world using the gift I have been given.

~Perhaps I have created a living legacy.

Michael Coyle - Cranbrook

I love watching families that we have been photographing forever, grow up.

Michael is another one those people we've been photographing since he was a baby.

We decided to create his senior portraits at Governor's Mansion in Farmington Hills. The same place we created His sister Julia's portraits last year.

What a great day for photography! Mid 70's low humidity; is this Michigan??

Anyway I love the way we're were able to use the architecture and manipulate the lighting for some really cool images for Michael!

Lindsey and Assaf

We had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lindsey and Assaf last Sunday. It was an absolutely gorgeous day... not to be matched by the gorgeous couple!

I've known and have been photographing Lindsey her entire life so it was very special for me to share in her marriage to Assaf. Together they are just so darn cute.

We worked with Alex Bitoff and his crew from Fifth and Main Productions who produced an awesome on the fly video recap. Also present was Dee Dee Hoffman, Gerychs Flowers, Paul Kohn Catering and of course the Simone Vitale Band.
